Materials – Quilted No-Sew Christmas Ornament
• 3” foam ball – You can use rough or smooth, but I highly suggest using a smooth one.
• #17 Fine Satin Pins 1 1/16 inch - You will need about 230 pins. I would round up to 300. I will
show you ways to save pins in class.
• Fabric – I would suggest working with cotton fabric until you get familiar and comfortable with the technique. Silky and Satin fabrics look beautiful, but they are a little more difficult to work with.
• 1/4 yard Main Fabric - You want this to be a small to medium print.
• 1/8 yard Accent Fabric – I would use a solid color for your first ornament.
• 10 ½ of trim or fabric – I usually use a 10 ½ X 2 ½ inch strip of my main fabric
• Narrow ribbon for the bow and hanger – Narrow widths ribbons work best – 3/8”, 1/4” and 1/8”
• Decorative Pearl Pin – not required. This is for the hanger
• Thimble – I love Colonial Needle Co Thimble Pack Plus (Item #SM420-Z). They have a metal thimble that adheres to the tip of your finger. The small leather thimble dots work as well.
• Scissors
• Flexible Dressmakers measuring tape – It is best if it is not contained like the circle ones with the button in the middle to reel it in. You will only need 3 inches so you can cut it off if you would like.
Mark 3/8”, 1/2”, and 1/4".
• Pen or Pencil
Prep for class:
• Cut Fabric into rectangles
o Main Fabric – (32) 2X3 Rectangles
o Accent Fabric – (24) 2X3 Rectangles
• Put pins into a pin cushion – I have found this helps when trying to hold fabric and grab a pin.
