Quilters of the 19th and 20th century used pieces of fabric as small as a postage stamp to make this quilt. Traditional Postage Stamp Quilts were made with thousands of tiny 1X1 inch squares sewn together. Through history, these quilts were a way to use up the tiniest scraps of fabric. Some Postage Stamp Quilts were often pieced with no set pattern in mind, and there were no hard and fast rules about how to arrange the color of squares. Making this quilt with all its tiny pieces often requires a great deal of patience & dedication to put it all together. I used 1X1 inch (finished) squares in my quilt utilizing all the bright colors I had saved.
